Amico di Castell'Alfero Palace
2, Piazza Cattedrale

Although the front overlooking Piazza Cattedrale reveals typical signs of the 18th century renovation, there are also typical elements of Gothic architecture to be found in the south-facing body of the building: the arches of the second storey portico, now walled up, and the 14th century coping. From this square one can also enjoy a complete view of the Cathedral building, whose impressive proportions visually recall the stronghold cathedrals of southern France.

Zoya Palace
65, Via Carducci

This building forms part of the stronghold of the Zoya family, partially restored in the 16th-17th century. Upper storey portico (internal courtyard). Original vaults in the halls of the basement, where trading took place and goods were stored; in the upper halls, coffer ceilings with "grotesque" decorations of the 17th century. Private property.

Bishop's Palace
50, Via Carducci

Stronghold of the Macalufo families, later Bunei, renovated in the 15th century by Bishop Vasino Malabayla. The Internal structure of the lower part of one of the four towers forming its powerful defensive structure is visible. On the front overlooking Piazzetta del Seminario there are decorations in vitrified brick.

Seminary (18th century)
Piazzetta del Seminario

Building was started in 1763 on a design by Benedetto Alfieri after the demolition of the previous structure, and was largely finished in 1776. It underwent extensions up until 1880. Architecturally very sober exterior, much more elaborate interior. The library is well-stocked with manuscripts (some are illuminated), parchments, incunabula, rare printed volumes. In the vast refectory there are works by Giacomino and Giovanni Longo Perosino and Gandolfino da Roreto.

Solara Tower (14th century)
Corner of Via Giobert/Via Carducci

On the corner of the block housing the scool buildings there is what remains of the tower of the Solaros, a powerful Guelf family, who alone successfully fought the Ghibelline coalition for a long time. They had "casane"(pawnshops) in all parts of Europe.
